Perinatal and Infant Mental Health

The perinatal period is a delicate time of development and profound adjustment for mothers, children and families. I provide specialised support for parents and families experiencing emotional challenges during this critical time. This may include concerns during pregnancy, birth trauma, perinatal grief and loss, postnatal depression and anxiety, and relational disturbances.

I have a particular interest in how experiences of trauma can emerge or be reactivated in the perinatal period. With experience treating single event and complex PTSD presentations, I integrate EMDR into the treatment of perinatal concerns.

I welcome parents attending together with their infant and provide parent-infant psychotherapy, focused on strengthening the developing attachment relationship. I have trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy, an evidence-based attachment focused intervention for families where there has been trauma, loss or relational stress.
